Where to start with AI in your company

Many companies know they need to use artificial intelligence but don't know where to start. The good news: the first step doesn't require a big investment.

1. Start with the problem, not the technology

List the tasks that consume the most team hours or cause the most rework. Repetitive customer service, report building and document checks usually top the list.

2. Look at your data

AI works best when it has access to the right information. Where does the data for that task live? In the ERP, spreadsheets, email? Knowing this defines the size of the project.

3. Run a small, measurable pilot

Pick one use case, set a goal (for example, cutting response time in half) and validate it in a few weeks.

4. Scale what works

Once the pilot is validated, integrate the solution with your systems and train the team. This is where the real return shows up.
